German pet retail giant accelerates product development and sourcing capabilities in Asia.

Fressnapf Opens Fressnapf Asia Limited in Hong Kong
The Fressnapf Group has officially announced its entry into Asia with the launch of Fressnapf Asia Limited in Hong Kong. The group will also establish a full Asia Sourcing Office, expected to be operational by the end of 2026. This new hub is designed to strengthen supply chain resilience, shorten product development cycles, and improve operational efficiency.
“This move strengthens our global footprint and underlines our long-term growth ambitions,”
— Torsten Toeller, Founder of Fressnapf
As part of the company’s global sourcing strategy, this expansion will enhance Fressnapf’s speed to market and support more agile decision-making across its 15 international markets.
Leadership and Strategic Direction
In January 2026, Christopher Smith, former Sourcing Director for Pets at Home Asia, will join Fressnapf as Managing Director of the Hong Kong office. His experience in Asian supplier ecosystems is expected to boost product innovation and quality assurance.
Enhancing Supply Chain Agility
Fressnapf aims to strengthen collaboration with local manufacturers, deepen supplier insights, and improve packaging and content development processes.
According to CEO Matt Simister, this regional presence will help maintain “complete control” over quality sourcing while delivering the best value to customers.
First Asia-Co-Developed Products Coming Next Year
The initial products developed jointly by Fressnapf’s Asian sourcing teams and European operations are planned for release next year, marking a new stage in the company’s global expansion strategy.
